![]() ![]() ![]() Natalie had been stalked and had nearly been sexually assaulted at one moment and the police had visited the house 3 times and “checked the house” to find no secret hiding… another plot hole that I really would of liked to of known (likely me being petty) was that CCTV was set up in the house, when Natalie is being chased around the house by the intruder he places some furniture in the way of a door therefore Natalie cannot escape back out the door, after the incident the police check the CCTV and there is video evidence of her running into her room and no apparent evidence of the intruder placing furniture in the way of the door… and before anyone questions that maybe he deleted that part… maybe he did but isn’t it the polices jobs to investigate the different time stamps and analyse if it was. The earlier example regarding the intruder in the house is another example of this, Natalie was chased around the house and thrown off a balcony into a swimming pool, 5 minutes later she’s sitting down alone having a class of wine in the house waiting for husband Kevin to arrive home. There are a few annoying moments in the movie and that is how the actors pretend like nothing happened before in scenes, in one moment Natalie is blamed for drugging husband Kevin with something deadly by the police and the next scene they’re in the kitchen talking about lunches… clearly he is uncomfortable, although the scene is so poorly presented that you wouldn’t think that he would have concerns at the thought of his wife Natalie potentially drugging him. (Why didn’t she just allow the police officers to arrive anyway? Someone has clearly been taking photos of her while she’s been asleep?!) and this isn’t the first incident. The actors do and make stupid STUPID decisions, for example Natalie sees that somebodies been taking photos of her while she’s been asleep and begins to think that somebody is now trying to break into her house as she is looking at the photos, and phones 911 to discover it was tree branches that were hitting the window to then tell the 911 operator to not worry about it, to then find out someone is actually in the house straight after she hangs up to then run away and phone them AGAIN for assistance. I will give the movie its positive here! It knew how to deliver something dramatic, however was it accurate at times? However this is when a con is clearly presented as so much drama happens in such a short time, an affair, an suicide, a mother who doesn’t care, a struggling relationship, counselling, struggling job careers, weird incidents in the house, a hostile sister and so on… it overshadows the horror of the movie. It felt like I was watching a cheap American soap opera, and this is clearly presented in the finished product that they tried to make the movie into a drama with horror elements. Just a heads up, the review will not be spoiler free as I need to rant at the shocking twist the movie focuses on at the end…Īs soon as the movie begun, I felt there was something off with the audio (like it was too loud) and how the scenes were presented to us as a audience. The movie stars Ashley Greene (Twilight) as Natalie and Shawn Ashmore (Frozen, The Ruins, X-men) as Kevin, a struggling married couple who want to start fresh by moving into a new house for a new start to rekindle their relationship… although you guessed it, the new house has something fishy going on! ![]()
